The lake Uby is the liaison between Cazaubon and Barbotan-les-Thermes. All the year, it welcomes diverse sports animations, of which some are of international reputation, such as the “Regatta of Cazaubon” and the French championships of rowing. This sport is also practised all over the year by passionate sportsmen or by novices, as part of a day of discovering, thanks to “Armagnac Aviron Club”, a dynamic association, which allows everyone to navigate on this lake, renowned for its quiet. During your walk on the lakefront, you’ll find carps, carnivorous fishes or white fishes’ fishermen, and maybe you’ll have the luck of admiring their superb catches. But, if you are guided by the same passion, come to put your fishing rod and go to the numerous competitions that the fishing club “Goujon du Bas Armagnac” organizes all over the year. You won’t be disappointed. It’s also a place where you’ll be able to revitalize thanks to the placid character which is there. Walks, bike rides, horse rides on the path around the lake and recently fitted out with a fitness circuit. Alone or with the family, they will brighten up your therapy or your holidays. For one year, lots of tables, accessible for everyone, have been put all around, allowing you to have a picnic, to play to a board game, to read, to see the numerous ducks or simply to have a rest, while enjoying this beautiful green setting. Just on the other side, you’ll find the fun fair of the Lake Uby, where you can swim from June 12 to September 11, 2016, in a watched swimming-pool (700m²), practise nautical activities such as paddle, pedalo, canoe, play volleyball, ping-pong or boules and for the smaller, run from game to game to find a children’s slide or a swing. 4 tennis courts and a skate park complete those various attractions. Integral part of the natural Uby Valley zone, the lake (with the same name) benefits from a remarkable environment thanks to its geography, its flora, its terrestrial, ornithological or aquatic fauna, and it forms a 80 hectare lake.
