Elusa Capitale antique forms, thanks to its three sites – The Villa of Séviac in Montréal du Gers, The archeology museum/The Eauze’s treasure and the Domus of Cieutat /Interpretive Center in Eauze - there high grade and their proximity one of the most magnificent imperial Roman heritage. Throughout the year, Elusa Capitale antique provides a wide variety of educational programs for adults and families. From our facilities through tactile opportunities in the exhibitions rooms; Elusa Capitale antique wants to make your visit as fun, informative and easy as possible.
VILLA OF SEVIAC
Placed in the heart of an agricultural and wine growing area, La Villa de Séviac dominates the countryside environment. This monumental country palace of 6500 m² is endowed with vast thermal baths (500m²) and is richly decorated with superb polychrome mosaics floors (450 m²). The richness, the quality and seize of this palace makes the Villa of Seviac a true gem for the Gallo-roman’s heritage in France. After an enhanced restoration program, the villa will soon regain its original splendor. The reopening is planned on June 4th, 2018.
DOMUS OF CIEUTAT/ INTERPRETIVE CENTER
In the depths of one of the biggest French archeological reserve (20 hectares), la Domus de Cieutat represents over 2700m² the traditional Gallic urban housing at its excellence. Placed in the center of one of the residential neighborhoods of Elusa’s city, la Domus de Cieutat reveals a part of the aristocrat quarter history. The archeological site interpretive center brings life to the remains of the Domus thanks to cutting-edge interactive, virtual and playful devices. Self-explanatory equipment reveals all you would need to know about the city of Elusa.
THE ARCHEOLOGY MUSEUM/EAUZE’S TREASURE
The archeology museum displays one of the most exquisite antic treasures to survive. The treasure unearthed in Eauze in 1985 consists of 28054 coins and more than 50 precious objects or jewelry from the III rd century of our era. The state of conservation of the jewels and coins makes this trove one of the most important ever discovered and kept in a museum in France.
